Manitoba—Access Credit Union is proud to announce the 2026 Focused Funding Grant, now in its second year. This year’s initiative is dedicated to supporting school recreation and wellness programs across Manitoba.
The grant reflects Access Credit Union's commitment to fostering healthy communities and ensuring students have the resources they need to succeed. Access chose to focus on recreation and wellness because improvements to these areas will ensure that both students and communities have safe, supportive environments to connect, grow, and thrive together.
The grant will provide a total of $250,000 in financial support to K-12 public schools throughout Manitoba. The grant will be awarded to 10 schools, with each receiving $25,000 to enhance recreation and wellness programming.
Key details of the 2026 Focused Funding Grant:
- Eligibility: Open to all K-12 public schools in Manitoba.

“We saw tremendous interest from across Manitoba last year and we’re proud to once again offer a program that speaks to the specific needs in our communities,” adds Curt Letkeman, Board Chair of Access Credit Union. “By focusing on recreation and wellness, we can truly make an impactful difference, remove barriers, and create lasting opportunities for children to grow and develop.”
Schools interested in applying can visit the Focused Funding Grant page for more information. The grant applications open February 16, 2026, and close on March 31, 2026. Successful schools will be contacted in the fall, followed by a public announcement.
The Focused Funding Grant will have a new focus from year to year, allowing Access to target specific areas. By rotating the focus annually, Access Credit Union can address a variety of community needs. This approach ensures that the support provided by Access remains dynamic and responsive to the evolving priorities of our communities.
